I'm officially an Xtreme Sport wannabe! hah

So this weekend I added to my list of attempted extreme sports. For those of you who dont know me, I attempted to surf during spring break which didn't work out due to rip currents and a lazy instructor. But this weekend i teamed up with my 6ft friend Vanessa and her bf Victor (who happens to be my "surf instructor" LOL) and we skateboarded like retards. It resulted with me breaking one of my favorite shoes and vanessa ate it nasty... we wont mention what happened while she ate it. LOL But surprisingly Kaylin picked it up really fast. 7 year olds are awesome, actually KK's awesome!!

Bettie Serveert - Lover I Don't Have To Love

That song is seriously amazing, and it goes with one of the best scenes of the OC. (R.I.P) LOL

FINALLY. McQueen for Target.

I've been hearing for a while that the master himself (Alexander McQueen) was going to create a line for Target. Finally, those rumors have been confirmed and according to WWD we can expect:

"The collection has a muted color palette of black, white, gray and tan with accents of cobalt blue and bright pink. Studs and mesh give items an edge. For example, a chambray sleeveless shirtdress has stud detailing, there’s a mesh wrap dress and an open yarn zipper cardigan. Graphic prints and silk-screen photographs give tunics, dresses and T-shirts visual interest. The Leila silk-screen T-shirt with a necklace collar was designed for The Duke Spirit lead singer, while other band members are immortalized on a sleeveless jersey T-shirt.

A sateen strapless pleat dress in a tattoo print of mermaids, dice and anchors is an example of McQueen’s penchant for pairing feminine fabrics with tough details — in this case, a studded leather belt."

Charles Hamilton

Thanks to my friend Omar, I heard about this artist Charles Hamilton---orgasmic.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio Hamilton was exposed to music since he was young through his mother who was an entertainment journalist. His music is mainly sample driven, but explains that its for the sake of telling a story and conveying emotion. "I believe that music is based on moments, and that there are some moments that people may have missed back in the day. They may have even missed it a year ago. When I sample, I'm giving the artist their respect, while simultaneously creating something new." He's influenced by a million different genres--he basically has music ADD. I personally give this guy props, his music's good and catchy and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us. You can also visit his blog at charleshamilton.blogspot.com. I'm not sure if his album is up on itunes but its called "The Pink Lavalamp".

My mom.

Vanessa became upset at the fact that i have a blog and I have yet to feature her. Without her i would probably die, because she's such a mother to me. She's those types of people that are always looking out for other people. So momma Van, just as you requested this ones for you!!!!!!!!

Did i mention that she's like 6 feet and I'm 4'11?

He's pretty good at editing videos and has kind of made a youtube business for himself. You can watch his videos on the wastetimechasingcars channel or go to wastetimechasingcars.com for merchandise and downloads.

My 2 Favorites

If you dont know my best friend Ashley has an unhealthy obsession with the Jonas Brothers, and I have one with Kanye West. So when the Jonas Brothers do a cover of Kanye West I loved it. They only did the chorus and the videos a little shaky but towards the ending it gets pretty good when Joe starts to sing. Now Kanye needs to cover love bug and the world will be a better place! LOL

REWIND: Alexander McQueen S/S 1999

As Spring is approaching I thought it was time to look back a few years on any major couture shows to find inspiration on the upcoming months ahead of us. I came across my favorite designer Alexander McQueen and found what is probably written down in fashion history on one of the most meaningful and amazing shows ever. Spring/Summer of 1999 was probably one of his best. At the finale of this show, model Shalom Harlow walks out in a simple white tube dress and literally gets a "print" painted on her. I believe this started a whole new era in fashion and probably back then and still now changes the way designers, artists, or anyone looks at things. Where model meets machine.

In the beginning of this video it features a fall/winter show but you'll figure out what I'm talking about. ALEXANDER MCQUEEN=GREATNESS.

Since then, they became a part of a business model called Parachute, (a new project by the founder of Etsy.com). They are beginning to exploring ways to help cottage industry pioneers take their business to the next level and compete with mainstream fashion/production industry by providing subsidies and educational opportunities. and my homies my homies all singing to 3oh! 3oh!3.

So I was looking through Alternative Press Magazine and I noticed that 3oh!3 was featured as the most under-rated band of 2008. I completely agree. 3oh!3 (pronounced three oh three) is a hip-hop electronica band from Boulder, Colorado. The rapping duo met in a physics class at the University of Colorado, and became inspired by the underground hip hop scene. Immediately they began mixing beats and since then have sold out local clubs, opened for Snoop Dog, and have performed at warped tour two years in a row. In their latest CD "Want" they managed to mix crunk, electronica, punk, hip-hop, and even emo to create an energy overload album. They recently were chosen to co-headline in the AP tour '09 along with Family Force Five,  A Rocket To The Moon, The Maine, and Hit The Lights. Which I will FOR SURE be attending.

first post.....ever.

Hey, I'm Michelle and i decided to copy my brother Eric and Juan on making my own blog (thedaily1.blogspot.com). I always like reading other blogs and seeing what other people are up to, so why not make my own? This blogs purpose is to expose things that i feel need to be shared, and to show what i like and what inspires me everyday. I'll probably be posting things about music, fashion, and maybe some of my projects or sketches i'm working on would go up here. Other than that enjoy!

So I was in school and Christina showed us how to use the panoramic setting on her camera and here's what we got out of it... ( some of the pictures are split but other than that they were pretty cool)
